Alma's daughter Janet was one of my best friends from second grade through high school, and Virginia Western Community College. We also went to work together at the VA Regional Office in Roanoke, VA and were best friends there as well. Through Janet, I came to know Alma and became good friends with her through the years. She and Janet were both fun loving with a great sense of humor. After Janet passed, Alma and I stayed in touch and remained good friends through the years until her death. She also became good friends with my sister, Janice, and would stop in to the Post Office, where we worked, and we would visit in the lobby. We would also occasionally get together for dinner, and she was always interested to know what was going on in our lives. Alma was very spiritual and we connected on that level and had many talks about our Lord and Savior. She loved her children and we would talk about whatever might be happening in their lives at the time. She was a sweet, nurturing person, and cared for many friends and relatives over the years, helping out where she could. I feel blessed to have known the friendship of both Alma and Janet. David, I too, thank you for all you did to take care of Alma. You were her rock and your caring meant the world to her, and she truly couldn't have made it without you. My deepest condolences to you and your family during this very sad time. Alma and Janet are together again in that beautiful place called Heaven, and may God bless and keep you through the years here on earth until you see them again.

Alma was a wonderful, sweet woman. Such a caring person. I knew Alma through her daughter Janet, who was my sister's (Charlene Gray Yeagley) best friend. Whenever we visited Alma she was always interested to know what had been going on in our lives and asking about family. She was funny, too, so it was easy to see where her daughter, Janet, got her sense of humor and wit. She loved her children dearly. I know it was hard for both of you after Janet's passing. Thank you, David, for taking such good care of Alma. I don't know what she would have done without you. My condolences to David and all the family. May God be with you and comfort you during this difficult time, and may your memories of Alma bring you peace.

Mom, is now at rest. She struggled these last few years, but according to the promise she now sleeps and awaits the return of our Lord Jesus. She will be awakened in a body incoruptable, to be with Him for ever.
