Amy Lynn Abernathy, 49, of Roanoke passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  She was born in Roanoke on June 7, 1973 and graduated in 1991 from William Byrd High School.

Amy is survived by her parents Steve Abernathy, Sue Abernathy (Brenda Bishop) and Priscilla Abernathy; Sisters: Loretta Jessee, Peggy Hetherington (Scott) and Kathy Davis (Neil); Brothers: Mark Abernathy and Harold Driscoll (Robin) and many nieces and nephews. Amy is also survived by her cherished best friends Jamie Martin, Denise Ulliac, Peggy Hetherington, Wendy Crowder (Albert), Aunt Susan Waldman and Louie.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Frances and Herman Abernathy and maternal grandparents Joan and Carl Huffine.

She absolutely loved her dachshunds Cinderella, Copper, Cody and Belle and her loving family. 

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 2PM at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel, where the family will receive friends on Monday, January 23 from 5pm until 8pm. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
