Bette Lee Ferguson Weber, 83, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center in Emporia, Va. She was born in Roanoke, Va., on September 4, 1939.

Bette was preceded in death by her beloved husband and best friend, Holland Weber; her father and mother, Clarence and Virginia Ferguson; brothers-in-law, Charles Clifford and James McCrumb; cherished niece, Mary Beth McCrumb; and dear cousin, Lenora Holley.

Bette took great joy in attending the church of her youth, Ninth Street Church of the Brethren in the years prior to her death. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and National Business College and was the executive secretary to two firms in the Roanoke Valley. It was while working at Nelson Roanoke she met the love of her life, Holland Weber, and they were married on July 5, 1969, at Ninth Street Church of the Brethren. Holland said, “To know Bette is to have been touched by her kindness and love.” Bette had a heart and life of service and kindness to so many.

Bette was a resident of Emporia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center prior to her passing. The care, love and visits she received from Affinity Hospice of Virginia were true blessings to both Bette and the family.

Bette is survived by her sisters, Donna McCrumb of Sunnyvale, CA and her family, and Judith Clifford of Roanoke, VA; a very special friend from childhood, Elsie Anderson and her family; and numerous other relatives and special friends.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at Sherwood Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brent Williams presiding.
