Brian Elvin Wray, 47, of Blue Ridge Virginia went to be with the Lord after a long, courageous battle with cancer on October 22,2023.
He was born in Virginia in 1976, to parents Larry Wray and Renee Holdren. Brian attended Averett University where he received his bachelors degree, then went on to Liberty University where he earned his Masters degree. He enjoyed a career in banking where he worked at Atlantic Union Bank as a branch manager.
Brian was a devoted, loving father and husband. Family was his utmost priority. His joy and pride in life was his children. His dedication and love for his family drove his courageous, over 7 year battle with cancer. He was an amazing coach and loved coaching all his children’s sports teams. He was a life long UVA fan and all around sports lover. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and mountain biking. He was a talented woodworker and was well known for his beautiful cutting boards. Brian was loved by so many and never met a stranger. His strong faith in God was a testimony to all that knew him. His life verse was Phillipians 4:13, and he truly exemplified that verse daily in his life. Brian will be forever missed, and our hope and peace come from knowing we will see him again one day in eternity with Jesus.
Brian Wray was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Don Mullins.
Brian is survived by his wife,
Elizabeth Wray and children Gracey, Jace, Elley, and Joah, his bonus mom Patty Nicely, and siblings Stacey Wray Lane and Brandon Holdren, his grandmother Ruth Mullins, his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who were like family.
