Brooke Nicole Ferguson of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the age of 40.

Brooke was the Dean of Students at Virginia Western Community College and she was an avid supporter of her daughter, Mackenzie Ferguson’s Hidden Valley High School Volleyball team. Brooke received an International Baccalaureate diploma from Salem High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from JMU in 2000 and a Master’s Degree from JMU in 2006.

Brooke was an impressive athlete and was a member of the 1998 State Championship Salem High School Volleyball team. She also played volleyball at JMU where she competed nationally.

Brooke’s memory will be forever cherished by her parents, Chuck and Brenda Ashcraft as well as her brother, Scott. Additionally, she will remain in the hearts of her partner, Michael Gray, her former spouse, Todd Ferguson and her beloved children, Mackenzie Ferguson and Sawyer Gray. Brooke will also be forever missed by Michael Gray’s children, Jackson Gray, Mason Gray, and Emme Gray.

Brooke also leaves behind three special friends, Laura Furcron, Hillary Holland and Valerie Coles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Oakey’s South Chapel from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to a memorial scholarship fund for Mackenzie Ferguson and Sawyer Gray.
