Obituary for Cecil Boone
Cecil Allen Boone, 90 of Boones Mill, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Barbara J. “Boogie” Boone. Cecil was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Cecil was an active member of his community, volunteering with the Clearbrook Rescue Squad and Fire Department for 38 years. He was a faithful member of Red Hill Church of the Brethren, and participated in Project Warm and Camp Bethel. Cecil was proud to be an American Red Cross donor, having donated 835 times for a total of 171 gallons over 30 years.
Cecil is survived by his daughter, Joy B. Kaase and husband Bob of Roanoke County, a son, Steven A. Boone and wife Rita of Abingdon, four grandchildren, Troy Kaase, Tristin Kitts and husband Scott, Taylor Kaase Loving and husband Hunter, and Cheyenne Boone, five great grandchildren, Mila Kaase, Emerson and Shepard Kitts, and Blanche and Margret Loving, a brother, Gerald D. Boone of Roanoke, and a sister, Dorothy Hawley of Suffolk, VA.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the wonderful care dad received from Libby Chittum and the kind care givers at Kindred Hospice.
A celebration of Cecil's life will be held at a later date.
