Clifford
"Cliff"
Horn
Clifford (Cliff) M. Horn, of Oak Island, NC, formerly of Salem, VA, went to his heavenly home on December 29, 2022. He was 51 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Welch; his wife, Dedra Horn; son, Christian (Nasle); grandchildren, Melodie, Leia and Christian; his furry son, Lucky the dog. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lillian; son, Chase; and his favorite mother-in-law, Betty Sue. Cliff was also loved and adored by many additional family members and friends.
Cliff and Dee have had a relationship that was sought by many but found by few. With over 44 years as both friends and partners, they lived life with love, loyalty and respect. Cliff was the yin to Dee’s yang, the Peanut Butter to her Jelly, the peas to her carrots and she will forever cherish their bond and continue to chase the dreams they had together in memory.
Cliff was a wonderful man who took on the responsibility of raising two non-biological sons, of which he did without reservation and with selflessness. He treated both of those boys as if they were his own and treated them with unconditional love; it’s just one of the many reasons people loved and respected him dearly.
An attribute that made Cliff most memorable was his eagerness to brighten your day with laughter. His quick witted personality made him a joy beyond words.
In addition to his humor, Cliff was an over achiever. His work ethic was one for the books. His employment background included years of service to Coca-Cola and General Electric. Since moving to North Carolina, Cliff obtained an Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety. He was extremely proud of this accomplishment as he was 50 years old when he graduated. After completing college, he secured a position with Brunswick County.
This tribute would not be complete without mentioning his love for dogs. He loves them all, but held a special place in his heart for little Lucky. The bond and concern shown for his fur baby was observed by all. Lucky was like a son to Cliff.
A memorial service for Cliff will be held Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 at 6 pm at New Covenant Christian Church in Roanoke , VA. It will be officiated by Pastor Chris Kingery.
