Della Ruth Ashwell, 102, of Roanoke, Virginia went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ozzie McGuire; husband of 42 years, Thomas Ashwell; son, Richard W. Ashwell; daughter-in-law, Marsha P. Ashwell; siblings, Mary Simmons, Annie Chittum, Warren McGuire, and Wilford McGuire.

Della is survived by her sons, Douglas W. Ashwell (Brenda), and James E. Ashwell; grandchildren, Blake Ashwell (Brittany), Matthew Ashwell, Angela Steele (David) and Becky Ashwell; great-grandchildren, Avery Ashwell and Christian Steele and many nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023 at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Virginia, with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating.
