Obituary for Donna Widener (Jones)
Donna Delores Widener of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022.
She enjoyed playing pool, dancing, country music, Elvis Presley, Chuck Norris, and Clint Eastwood. Donna had cravings for Classic Pink gum, Dr. Pepper, Lays Chips, Vienna Sausages, and Reese Cups. She loved the children’s photos, TV, and Cox Cable for Walker Texas Ranger.
She was a top seller at AAA and for Avon and earned vacations, trophies, and plaques. She enjoyed people and their company.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leola Haynes; father, Lewis Jones; son, Barry Gearhart; and great-grandson, Donald Hardman.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Dana Parcell, Debbie Taylor, Rhonda Gearhart; son, Bobby Gearhart (Donna); 13 grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Jessica Gearhart, Ann Gearhart, Laurie and Lewis Issacson, Kristin and Donald Hardman, Amanda Bowes, Angie Spangler, Corey Gearhart, Ashley Gearhart, Brandon Gearhart, Bradley Gearhart, Porsha Gearhart, and Isacc Gearhart; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Scott Haynes; nephew, Kevin Haynes. Special thanks to Chris Lee, Our Lady of the Valley, and Heartland Hospice.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Airport Road in Roanoke. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the 12 noon service time on Thursday, both at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel.
