Obituary for Dorothy "Dot" George (Simpson)
Dorothy Marie “Dot” George, 87, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
She is survived by her son, Larry Robinson; daughter, Penny Robinson; her son from another mother, Howard Dickerson; four grandchildren, James Schramm, Jason Robinson, Bayli Price, and Zac Price; and four treasured great-grandchildren. Dot was predeceased by her husband, Philip George; brother, Harold Simpson; sister, Peggy Atkins; father, Pop Simpson; mother, Bessie Shockey; step-mother, Verbena Simpson; grandson, Alex Robinson; and beloved service dog, Ginger.
A funeral mass for the family will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, with interment to follow in St. Andrew’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel.
