Obituary for Dorothy Schuder

Dorothy “Dottie” Schuder passed away, on September 23rd, due to chronic health problems. In heaven, she joins her beloved father, mother, and other loved ones that departed before her. She spent 67 wonderful years spreading comfort and joy to those closest to her. She loved drawing, hummingbirds, butterflies, dogs, dancing, playing various board and card games, cooking, having her hair and nails done, fireworks, Christmas lights, any family get-together, and making others laugh. She raised 2 wonderful children (if they do say so themselves) in Jennifer and Chris. However, her greatest joy was the time that she spent with her grandchildren- Bryan, Nathan, Skylar, and Kaiden as well as her great-grandson Lincoln. If you could measure love in candy and cookies, they were possibly the most-loved grandchildren in history. Amongst her fondest memories were the many camping trips and sleepovers that her grandchildren spent with her. She is also survived by: siblings- Terry and Patricia; her nephews; her friend Larry; and her daughter-in-law Maegan. "We wish you were here but you're not, you're there, and there doesn't know how lucky it is." Friends and family are invited to join us for a celebration of her life on October 4th at 6pm. Mr. Bobby Harris has graciously agreed to officiate the service as Dottie requested. The service will be at Oakley’s Roanoke Chapel at 318 Church Ave., Roanoke, VA.
