Obituary for Emmett Martin Jr.
Emmett Lee (Lee Bird) Martin Jr., age 55 years, of Roanoke, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
Lee liked to make things out of wood. He really loved tinkering and working on cars with his friends and was a big fan of country and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Lee Martin Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Simmons; his paternal grandparents, Murray and Pansey Martin; and an infant granddaughter, Winter Ann Darnell.
Surviving is his wife, Virginia Ann Martin. Five children, Devin Neal, Joshua Martin, Duane Darnell, Mandy Martin, and Heather Martin. Five grandchildren, Ashawna, Paton, Dallen, Ryann, and Sammy. His mother, Barbara Simmons Martin, one sister, Shirl Hall, and husband T.J.; one brother, Timmy Martin, and wife Debra. His three fur babies, Buster, Red, and Gucci. Also, many other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at noon on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.oakeys.com.
