Ledbetter
Ethel Trivette Ledbetter, 94, of Roanoke graduated from this life to Heaven on Monday, May 22, 2023. She was born the daughter of Fred and Daisy Trivette on October 7, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated from Reynolds High School, Mars Hill College and Piedmont Bible College. From 1952-1957 she was in Costa Rica as a single missionary. On furlough in 1958 she married Michael Ledbetter. For five years he pastored the Stokesland Baptist Church in Danville, VA. In 1962, they were commissioned by the Southern Baptist International Convention Board as missionaries to Guatemala and Mexico, where they served for 31 years. Since moving back to Roanoke in 1998, she has been an active member of Community Church.
Both Ethel and Mike dedicated their lives to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all they came in contact with.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ledbetter; two brothers, Fred Trivette, Dean Trivette and his wife, Martha.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Leslie and his children, Maria, Lindy and Ivey, her daughter, Jeanie Patterson and her husband, Jim and their children, Robby, Kara and Ryan and Chelsea, Alex, Taylor and Rachel; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Oakey’s South Chapel with Pastor Tom McCraken officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
