Gayle Allen Brown, January 12, 1946 - March 12, 2023.  Gayle Brown, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at home peacefully in her sleep. She was the loving wife of Bobby (Bob) Brown for 20 years. 

Born on January 12, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Marilyn Allen. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Aubrey Elihu Allen.

In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Amy Riek and husband, Rob of Chesapeake, Virginia; a son, Keith Fisher and wife, Stephanie of Kailua, HI; a daughter-in-law; Kristyn Schmidt and husband Chad; a son-in-law, Walton Brown and wife, Cathy of Radford, VA; six grandchildren, Alexandra and Ryan Riek; Abbie and Sam Shepherd; Logan and Ally Brown and 3 great-grandchildren, Mariana, Kaden and Everly Spencer; a sister, Carolyn Echols and husband Charles, and other relatives and many friends. 

Gayle retired in 2011from Mattern and Craig Consulting Engineers of Roanoke. She previously was employed with the Poquoson School System from 1979 to 1992. She enjoyed being a member of the Roanoke Valley Shag Club for many years and cherished the many friends she made there. She was also a member of the Poquoson Women’s Club and Churchland Jaycetts.  

Gayle was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife who loved to spend time with her family and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed shopping, boating with friends, beach time and decorating her home. 

A celebration of Gayle’s life will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lee Funeral Home, Little River, SC for friends in the North Myrtle Beach area and a second celebration at 2:00 PM on March 26, 2023, at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel in Vinton, VA. A graveside service will be conducted on March 27 at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton, VA
