Obituary for HAZEL JONES

Hazel Jones of Live Oak Florida went home to be with Jesus on March 22, 2021. Hazel was born in a small cabin in Live Oak. She went on to become an accountant and then with her husband Jimmy Jones, started their own apparel company near Roanoke, VA. She lived most of her life in VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James Jones; sister: Shirley, brother-in-law: Joe, and great-nephew: Devin. Hazel is survived by her brother: Curtis Aue; sister-in-law: Berta; nieces: Brenda, Laura; nephews: Don, Joey; great-nieces: Ashley, Hayley, Mackenzie, Sage, Trinity; great-nephews: Cordale, Corey, Zion; great-great niece: Thea; stepson: Neil; numerous cousins and friends.

Hazel was loving, kind, generous, gracious, and classy. She made it to the top but she was always humble and never forgot where she came from. She was the one who would show up in times of trouble or make snacks for the kids at VBS. She never had a child of her own but she was a mother to many.

She was a true friend and the best sister anyone could ask for. She loved her husband and together they had many adventures. She would always get in their candy apple red Cadillac and proclaim "home James" at the end of the day.

She was neat and organized and when asked, she would say that the secret to life is to read your Bible and exercise every day.

She never boasted about herself and she didn't receive compliments very well. She always gave credit to God. She spent her life serving in various ministries and gave very generously to the church and other organizations close to her heart. She loved St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
