Obituary for Jarrod Hudson
Jarrod Randell Hudson, 41, of Roanoke, VA passed from this life to his eternal home on Thursday, March 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Jarrod is survived by his father, Tony Hudson; mother and stepfather, Becky Graybill Underwood and Ed Underwood; sister and best friend, Lindsey Hudson; and beloved pets, Jackson and Neeko. Also surviving are his extended family including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jarrod was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Geraldine Hudson and maternal grandparents, J.C. and Hilda Graybill.
Jarrod was an articulate, sensitive, kind and gentle soul with a huge heart who loved his family. He enjoyed listening to his music, collecting and reading books, especially the Classics, and was proud of his book collection. He especially enjoyed reading about far away places and cultures.
A special thank you to the staff of Roanoke Resource and especially to Celia and Robert for all of their help for Jarrod as he navigated through some tough challenges in his life. We would also like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Carilion Hospice of Roanoke for the exceptional loving care they gave to Jarrod in his last days. We will forever be grateful.
Jarrod fought the good fight with courage, grace and humility until the end and we will miss him terribly and will hold him in our hearts until we are reunited. Jarrod, it will never be goodbye, but we will see you later.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with his memorial service following at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. Online condolences may be expressed at www.Oakeys.com.
