In loving memory of Joey Edmund Feazell, a light that shone brightly in our lives. Joey passed away in his sleep on May 13, 2023, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.

Born on November 6, 1986, Joey’s presence filled the lives of those around him with boundless love and warmth. His early years were spent in Catawba, VA, where he cultivated a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures and love of family. Joey attended James River High School, leaving an indelible mark on his peers with his gentle nature and unwavering spirit. Joey was everyones best friend.

Joey's path brought him to Rivermont School, where he dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of special needs children. With his compassionate heart he touched the souls of both students and staff. Beyond his role as a caregiver and mentor, Joey was a beacon of love and acceptance. Standing tall as a gentle giant, he possessed a heart as big as the universe, with a teddy bear's warmth that enveloped all who crossed his path. Joey's love knew no bounds, and he had an innate ability to forge connections and make everyone he encountered feel like family. His genuine and infectious smile, coupled with his open-hearted nature, made it impossible for him to meet a stranger. Of all the passions that ignited Joey's soul, music burned the brightest. Joey effortlessly created lyrics and melodies that spoke to the depths of our beings. Through music, he expressed his emotions and shared his deepest self, leaving an everlasting impact on those fortunate enough to be captivated by his talent.

Joey leaves behind a loving tapestry of family and friends, forever changed by his presence. He is survived by his devoted parents, Larry and Linda Feazell of Fincastle, VA, his sister Crystal Leamon of Buchanan, VA, and his brother Dallas Leamon and brother-in-law Chip Leamon of Colonial Beach, VA. Joey will be deeply missed by his nephew and niece, Kellan and Kinsley Matheny, his girlfriend Julia Bird of Roanoke, VA, and his daughter Jaelyn Bell of Goodview, VA. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Elizabeth Feazell, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a vast network of cherished friends. The bonds he forged with his childhood friends, including Gary Goad, Drew Sprinkle, Colter Ayers, and the band members of The Riverbank Ramblers and J.E Feazell & th' Dive Bar Stars, will forever hold a Joey sized hole in their hearts.

While our grief weighs heavy upon us, we find solace in the memories, stories and wild nights we shared with Joey. We bid him farewell in a private ceremony reserved for immediate family, we also anticipate a future celebration of his life—a joyful commemoration of the light he brought into our lives and the love that will endure. Rest easy Double or Nothin, JAWA, Joey
