Obituary for John Quentin Harris

John Quentin Harris was born on August 23, 1978, to one Linda Pruitt Harris Routt and the late Michael Lloyd Harris.

He was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School in 1997. He was affectionately known as Little John by many. His mohawks and punk rock style defined his younger years in the Roanoke Valley downtown scene. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a combat medic and as he served, he rose in the ranks to sergeant. He served two tours in Iraq. Once discharged from active duty he still honorably served in the National Guard. Upon completion he returned to school and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Roanoke College and later earned his master’s. His passion to serve our country continued as he worked with disabled veterans in the prosthetics department for the VA hospital. His kindness and generosity touched so many lives, not only in his professional life but in his personal life as well.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Routt, of Roanoke; his older brother, Scott Pruitt and girlfriend Meghan Guilliams, of Roanoke; his youngest brother, Lloyd Harris; nephew, ElijahR. Pruitt, all of Roanoke; and his girlfriend, Laurie Evans Lamb, of Asheville, N.C.
