John Trent, Sr., 79, of Daleville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Lillian Trent; and daughter, Carolyn Trent Switzer and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dolly; three sons, Buddy Trent (Deana), John Trent, Jr., Andrew Trent (Tiffany); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Phil Trent (Barbara); one sister, Judy Jones (Pete); Special Friends, Michael Niday (Betty), Ray Handy, Danielle Alderman and Sandra Christian. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Oakey’s East Chapel with Pastor Terry Shaw officiating.  Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at the funeral home.
