Obituary for Joshua Mann

Joshua "Josh" Lewis Mann, 41, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on July 9, 2020, at his home. He was born September 24, 1978 in Hinton, West Virginia, the son of James William Mann and Judy Richardson Mann.

Josh was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School. He was his happiest at any body of water with a fishing pole in hand. He loved to play his guitar and had a great love for all types of music. Josh loved to write, and wrote a blog, Something's Fishy, about surf fishing for beginners. He loved spending time with his children and family.

Josh is survived by his children Lucas Mann, Sadie Mann, Jacob Jarrell, and Josiah Jarrell, his long time partner Jessica Gibson and her children Izreal and Donovon; loving grandmother, Betty Mann; father, James Mann and wife Teresa; mother, Judy Mann and husband, Lee Yancey; sister, Jamie Mann and wife Merenda; as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins; lifelong friend and fishing partner, Larry Kincaid and family; and band jam friend, Todd Cook.

Josh was preceded in death by his birthday buddy, idol, and grandfather, William Lewis Mann, as well as great grandmother, Florence Mann, and grandmother, Mary Alice Richardson, along with various other great aunts and uncles.

Josh's dad jokes, big heart, dry sense of humor, and love for animals will be missed by many friends that will cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Roanoke Explore Park at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2020.

In lieu of flowers, please make any monetary donations to Roanoke County Parks and Recreation TRS Services, Annual Valentine Dance. This event was very near and dear to Josh's heart.
