Judy King Henderson, 78, of Boones Mill, Va., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.

Judy is best known for her sincere love of people. If someone was in need, you could bet she wasn’t far behind with a kind gesture or supportive word. She was a talented seamstress, hostess, baker, crafter, and loved gardening.

Judy worked as a medical secretary until she retired from Jefferson Surgical Clinic. After retirement she stayed active volunteering for a variety of groups, socializing with new and old friends, and traveling.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Charles “Charlie” Henderson.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Ginger) Henderson, Krista Henderson, and Brian (April) Henderson; her brothers, Lloyd “LJ” (Sue) King and Randy (JoAnn) King; and a large extended family that she loved dearly. Judy was the proud grandmother of Logan, Savannah, Caleb, and Cara and cherished every minute that she spent with each of them. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by everyone.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Oakey’s South Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Oakey’s South Chapel with Dr. Dane McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
