Obituary for Lauren Chapmon

Our precious daughter, Lauren Chapmon passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. We were given 33 years to spend with our beautiful daughter.

Lauren was an amazing, beautiful woman. She taught me how to be a mother and love someone without limitations.

Lauren had a big heart and a big beautiful smile. She loved her family and her friends with everything in her being. Her children and siblings especially. She loved to take them places and watch movies with them.

Lauren loved to make people happy and bringing a smile to their faces. She had a dry, sarcastic, witty, quirky sense of humor. We never knew what she would say or do next. She made some very special friends while working at the Great 611 Steakhouse that were like family to her. The family would like to thank them for being so kind and generous with their love for her. Lauren also had customers that she loved and was delighted when they came in and were seated in her section. I might not know you, but thank you for bringing joy and kind words into my daughters life.

She loved to write and draw. She would leave little pictures and notes for people to find and make them smile. Lauren loved the beach and swimming in the ocean. She was obsessed with perfume and always smelled heavenly. Her children and family will always remember her big, warm, sweet-smelling hugs. Lauren loved her children with all her heart! Her perfume will remind them of her for always and forever. Lauren was so loved and will be missed more than she could ever know.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Leo A. Chapmon and her aunt, Shana Jean Cross.

Lauren is survived by her children, Madeline Elizabeth Edmonds and Grayson Emmett Chapmon; parents, Dr. Trevar and Jill Chapmon; siblings, Sarabeth, Matthew, Benjamin, Mary Margaret, Abe and Elijah; maternal grandmother, Dr. Samuel Corbin and his wife Arlene; maternal grandfather, David Goodwin and his wife, Sonia; paternal grandmother, Nyra Chapmon; other extended family.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Patrick Golden officiating.
