Obituary for Laury Booth
Laury L. Booth, age 72, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away at home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laury I. Booth and his mother, Joyce Brown Booth.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Troutt Booth, daughter, Jessie Bogart and husband Lucas. He was “Pop” to his granddaughters, Merritt and Sadie Bogart. He is also survived by his brother, Porter Booth (Becky), and his sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Danny Broughman, nieces Ashley Goad (Gary) and Leslie Broughman, great nephew, Chase Chrimes and great niece, Emery Goad.
Laury had been retired a number of years from Erie Insurance Company, where he worked as a Claims Appraiser/Reinspector. Through his job he had many friends in the Car world. He loved working on and cruising in his Mustang, especially “Lima”. He was a member of the Roanoke Valley Mustang Club and loved spending time with his Mustang family. Special thanks to Steve and Timberly Martin and Bobby Laprade for being there for us.
Despite spending much time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. He had a great ability to make others smile. His stories and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 21, in the Chapel Of Devotion Mausoleum of Mountain View Memorial Park, 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, VA with Pastor Chase Krug officiating. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel, 318 Church Avenue, SW. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.oakeys.com.
