Obituary for LaVerne Glenn
LaVerne Sink Glenn of Roanoke, Virginia, affectionately known as Ms. LaVerne to her beloved family and friends, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 96. A lifelong member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. She attended Blackstone College for Girls and became well known for her years managing notable exercise salons in Roanoke, caring for the children of many families and work as a receptionist for Drs Crickenberger and Dunham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter Oscar Sink, Sr. and Lydia Mary Divers Sink; father of her children, Jack D. Glenn; sons, Hunter D. Glenn and J. B. Glenn; brother, Peter O. Sink, Jr. and sister Geraldine S. Cooper.
Left to forever cherish her memories are her son, Peter W. Glenn and his wife Lindy; closest friend, “daughter and sis", Audrey White; and many loving and devoted friends and neighbors.
A celebration of LaVerne's life will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, 10:30 am at Oakey's South Chapel. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Raleigh Court United Methodist Church.
