From Leona's book, Tender Reflections :
ALPHA AND OMEGA
We all begin life miraculously microscopic.
Then we stumble and recover to our final destination.
As we stand on the brink of this new adventure, God watches and smiles.
I can hear Him saying, "I will do something great with this one."
From that moment He begins to refine and polish.
He will use joy as well as sorrow to banish false pride.
He will use suffering to give us compassion for the suffering of others.
He will teach us to seek His face as the only true comfort in our lives.
At the end of our journey we will stand at the gate of Heaven.
We will hear the most important words ever spoken,
"Well done my good and faithful servant!" As we enter the gate.
