Louis Steven Tudor was born March 17th, 1956 in Charleston, West Virginia to Bill and Mae Tudor, he entered the rivers of Heaven on July 1st, 2020.
Louis was a husband, father, brother, uncle, and cousin. Not only was he an incredible family man, but he was also a mentor, coach, friend, avid fisherman, competitive swimmer, and leader in the community.
Louis graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, where he swam competitively. He worked as a CPA in Whiteville, North Carolina, before choosing to move to Roanoke, Virginia, where he continued the legacy of Tudor’s Biscuit World.
He is survived by his children, Erin Barnard (Paul), Nick, Shane and Hannah Tudor, and his soulmate of 30 years, Jessica. Left to cherish his memory are his older sister, Tona Marion (Jim), younger brother, John Tudor (Lydia), Mary, Louis, Sam and Mickey Fochtman, many nieces and nephews, and vast extended family. He was called Papa Lou to two beautiful granddaughters, Rose and Anna. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and adorned father-in-law, Norman Slocum. Louis had so many connections with so many people, and some of those most beloved include Mark Keating, Wilton Kennedy, Duke Edsall, Tracy Smith, Doug Shanks, James Farmer and the Doughty Family.
He was known as a passionate swimmer and swim coach. Louis is known for his love of all things water-related. His passion and dedication shone through coaching teams and individuals throughout the Roanoke Valley. He found his true happiness when having a positive impact on others, both in the water and out.
His family has the most beautiful memories of being outdoors with him. He also enjoyed the peacefulness of floating on the James River, where he revived his childhood love of fishing. Some of Louis’ most treasured memories were exploring the reefs in Key West, Kauai and Moorea.
To those who wish to make donations, the family and friends of Louis Tudor are in the process of starting a foundation for people who struggle with mental illness. While his funeral services have already been held, his memory will live on forever.
