Mabel H. Mitchell, 87, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 1, 2023.  She was a longtime employee of the Orange Market and was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall C. Mitchell; her parents, Raymond and Gaudie Hardy; and three sisters and one brother.  Mabel is survived by three daughters and one son, Sandy (Don) Dooley, Mark Mitchell, Connie (Jerry) Farris, Mitzie Mitchell; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Friendship South, Good Samaritan Hospice and especially her granddaughter, Angie Dooley for helping the family take care of their mother.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Oakey’s North Chapel with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
