Obituary for Margaret Jamison (Statham)

Margaret Statham “Peggy” Jamison died on Monday, January 18, 2021, at her home in Henrico, VA, after a lengthy illness.

Peggy was born in Washington, DC, on January 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret Statham. She was preceded in death by her siblings Pat, Mike, and Betty. She is survived by her faithful husband Barry, and sons Barry Jr., Mark, and Kevin and his wife Helen, and, among her greatest joys in life, her grandchildren Kasey, Alan, and Sara. She is also survived by her niece Terri and her husband Gary, and nephew Harry and his wife Debby, several great-nieces and nephews, as well as many nieces and nephews on her husband’s side.

Peggy was a devoted housewife and will be sorely missed by sugar lovers everywhere as she was known far and wide for baking the best chocolate chip cookies, pound cake, and pumpkin pie within the Western Hemisphere.

A joint graveside service for Peggy and her brother-in-law Charles S. Penick, who passed away the same day, will be conducted from the graveside at 11 AM Saturday, January 30, 2021, from Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery (Franklin County).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Villa (www.neverstopbelieving.org). The family is especially grateful to Dr. W. Clifford Hendrix for his excellent lengthy care for Peggy.
