Obituary for Marshall Brillhart

Marshall Frank Brillhart went to dance with the Angels on Sunday, June 5, 2022. God let us have him for 89 years on this earth and the difference he made and the lives he touched was extensive and substantial. No matter who he was to you-husband, father, Pops, brother-in law, father-in law, uncle, neighbor, friend or stranger he would do anything for you. He lived his long life in service to God and taking care of others.

Marshall was devoted to his life partner/wife of 63 years Mary Margaret Brillhart. Unconditionally loved his children Jon Brillhart, Jennifer Kibler Keeley and her husband Dr. Chris Keeley and totally and completely adored his granddaughter, Anna Grace Kibler. His favorite role was being her Pops, she was his world and gave him such joy. Plus, he cherished all of his in laws, nieces and nephews.

He was a quiet, humble, loving, kind, completely unselfish, giving, sweet, huge hearted, God- centered, funny, forgiving, trustworthy, hard-hard working man. He loved; being an active member of St, Andrews Church, his over 40 year career at Radford Arsenal Ammunition Plant, being a part of the Knights of Columbus and Roanoke Catholic Schools (where his family has been a part of for over 50 years).

Marshall was a special man who gave unselfishly and would rather give to others than have for himself. During the last part of his journey our family owes so much thanks to the people that gave of themselves to care for him- the wonderful care givers at Brookdale Roanoke, Good Samaritan, The great team on the 6th floor at Lewis Gale Hospital.

If you were touched by Marshall please join the family to celebrate his life Monday, June 13 at Oakey’s Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel. Our family will welcome friends from 11:00am-12:00 for the viewing, the service then will be at 12:00 in the Oakey’s chapel, burial following at St. Andrews Cemetery and then continued celebration at Montano’s International Gourmet from 2:30pm-4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, our wish is that you follow Marshall’s example by helping someone in need -Pay it forward by having open hearts, open hands and doing something kind for someone else.
