Obituary for Nancy Sexton (Kelley)

Nancy K. Sexton "Momoo"

Nancy K. Sexton “Momoo”, 72, of Troutville, went to be with the Lord Her Savior on Friday, November 3, 2023.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pat Kelley; and brother-in-law, Randy Collins.

Nancy cherished her family and loved spending time with them. She was a devoted mother and grandmother that could always be counted on to attend sporting and academic events, go shopping, play games, or just hang out. Nancy was a talented decorator and found joy in her flowers, gardening, and being outside in the sunshine. She was a typical middle child always being the mediator and keeping the peace. She loved traveling with her sisters and late night card games when they were all together. Nancy loved life, always had a smile on her face and was a comfort to everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Greg Sexton; daughter, Kelly Tyler (Mike); son, Erik “Bubba” Sexton (Stacey); four grandchildren, McKenzie Tyler, Emma Tyler, Garrett Sexton, Ava Sexton; four sisters, Katie Collins, Gloria Jean (Jeanie) Kelley, Randie Gail Morris (Rick), Shirley Anne Sharafi; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Blue Ridge Cancer Care, Dr. Joshua Morales, McClendon McGee (NP), Alexis Gliniecki (RN) and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care of Nancy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Oakey’s East Chapel.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, 12:00 pm at Oakey's East Chapel with Pastor Joel Wegner officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
