Nellie Zando Bradley

November 19, 1922  -  December 27, 2022

Nellie Zando Bradley was the youngest of six children born to the late Robert and Catherine Zando. She was born and raised in West Virginia. She loved to sing in the church where she and her sister Geneva were the duo for the small Catholic church choir they were raised at, instilling a lifelong Catholic faith that guided her throughout her marriage to her late husband, Thomas O. Bradley, Jr. and their upbringing of their two daughters Cecilia and Catherine. She was kind and gentle, beautiful inside and out, yet humble in spirit. She excelled in Latin, typing, shorthand, and loved to play basketball and roller skate in her spare time growing up. Both Cecilia and Catherine, who was her live-in caretaker, want to thank all of our family and church staff who have worked with us to make this final honor for Nellie possible. Special thanks to her late sister’s boys Andy, Michael, Randy, and Courtney Fiery, her pallbearers for her Graveside Service with Father Louis Benoit presiding on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke at 11 am. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4 to 6 pm at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel. She is survived by her daughter Cecilia and husband Kent Petersen, grandson Nick B. Petersen and wife Emily, and daughter Catherine Grace Bradley.  Mom, we love you and we will see you again with our Lord.
