Obituary for Pauline Short
Pauline Owens Short, 100, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2022 surrounded by her children. She was an independent, loving woman who was loved and admired by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Wanatah Owens and Clara May Owens, and her husband, James Buford Short.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Sweeney of Vinton, and sons, Richard Short and wife Sandy of Vinton, and Gary Short and wife Adelle of Murrells Inlet, S.C. Also surviving are her grandsons, Tony Sweeney, Cory Short, Greg Thompson, and Kevin Thompson, and their families, and her sister, Betty Holtom of Westerville, OH.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 in Evergreen Burial Park with Pastor Terry Brace officiating.
