Obituary for Peggy Lawson (Thornhill)
Peggy Lee Lawson, 71, of Salem, went to her heavenly home on, Monday, October 12, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wayne Lawson, Sr.; son, Steve Allen Lawson; parents, George Kolmer Sr., and Hazel Daphne Thornhill, sister, Virginia Diane Greenway.
She was a member of Senneca Baptist Church and loved the Lord very much. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and caring for others. She rarely passed an opportunity for a Sunday drive or trip whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia A. Wray; sons, Walter W. Lawson, Jr. and James G. Lawson and their spouses; Grandchildren, Kayla Amos, Matthew Lawson, Benjamin Wray, Zachary Lawson, Kristina Wray, Cody Lawson, Tyler Lawson, Caitlyn Lawson, and Lillian Lawson; Great‐ Grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Evelyn, Declan, Asher and Sophia; sister, Shirley A. Thornhill; brothers, George K. Thornhill, Jr., and Richard L. Thornhill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel with Pastor John Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Senneca Baptist Church – Youth Scholarship Program – 8572 Roanoke Road, Elliston, VA 24087.
