Richard Ellis Jamison, “Dick” 84 of Roanoke, VA, passed away peacefully at home November 17, 2023, following a lengthy illness. Dick was born in Callaway, VA. July 24, 1939. Dick spent most all of his career working in the steel business and retired as President of Structural Steel Company in 2015.
Dick is the son of the late Cary and Rosetta Jamison. Dick is survived by his wife Jean Bratton Jamison of 61 years and his daughter Jodi Jamison Brazil (John), grandchildren Natalie Corbett Brazil and John Ellis Brazil. Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a quiet man but always willing to lend a hand to whoever he met. He will be greatly missed by all.
Dick grew up as a faithful member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church and served as an elder there. He was also a longtime member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder as well. Dick was a member of the Master Masons Association and Kazim Shriners.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday November 24, 2023, at Oakey’s South Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 25, 2023, 11 am at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Jefferson Street, Roanoke. Followed with burial service at Sherwood Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Padmaja V. Mallidi and all the staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Duke University Medical Center, Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospice.
