Obituary for Roberta Sink

Roberta McNutt Sink, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ late Tuesday night October 13th, 2020 surrounded by her beloved husband, three children, and grandchildren.

Roberta is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 64 years Donald Lee Sink, her sisters Pat Hammock (Hardy, VA), Nancy McNutt Chancellor (Chesterfield, VA), and Shirley McNutt Scott and husband MD Scott (Rockville, VA) and her son Michael Sink (Hardy, VA), Donna and husband Joey Smith (Daleville, VA), Robin Meador (Roanoke, VA), her grandchildren Joshua Meador (Roanoke, VA), Allison Brooke Smith and her husband Kyle Brady (Daleville, VA), Tyler and wife Bekah Smith (Bedford, VA), and Emily Meador (Roanoke, VA) and her two great-grandchildren Gabby and Emmitt.

Roberta was born on January 13th, 1936 in Roanoke, VA to parents Myrl and Grace McNutt. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954. She worked at the Roanoke City Library as an assistant to the librarians cataloging books, working the front desk, and driving the book mobile. She also worked at Evangel Four Square church in childcare, but her most prized job was nana to her four grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Roberta was an avid reader, amazing chef, and spent her time doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a committed lifetime member of the Evangel Four Square church where she taught Sunday school and was known for providing meals and love to all of its members. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

A private graveside will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tim Wright officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has asked friends and family to please donate to Good Samaritan Hospice or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
