Obituary for Rosalind Fralin (Harman)

Rosalind Jewel Harman Fralin, 86, of Bent Mountain, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Floyd, Va.

Born in Floyd, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Fralin Sr.; her parents, Jacob and Clara Harman; a brother, Joseph Harman; and a granddaughter, Jenna Lane Bunn.

Rose graduated from Willis High School as Class President then graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1959. She was also a long-standing member of Mount Union Church of the Brethren. Rose was the co-owner of Fralin Oil Company, Bill’s Quick Stop, as well as co-owner of Fralin’s Produce of Bent Mountain.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Fralin Bunn (John) of Newsoms, Va.; her son, James William Fralin Jr. (Ashley) of Bent Mountain; her sister, Margaret H. Hubbard of Floyd; sister-in-law, Gail Harman of Floyd; sister-in-law, Coleta (CoCo) Fralin of Dublin; brother-in-law, Alan Fralin (Ruth) of Copper Hill; and grandchildren, Rosalind Peyton, Jamey, and Jacey Bunn, of Newsoms, Va., and Rielly, Avery, and Morgan Fralin of Bent Mountain. Rose also had many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends like family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Mount Union Church of the Brethren, 9420 Bent Mountain Road, Bent Mountain, Va., with The Reverend Greg Fleshman officiating. A reception will be held after the ceremony at the church for friends and family.
