Obituary for Ruth Fisher (Craighead)
Ruth Craighead Fisher, 61 of Boones Mill, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Millard O. Craighead and mother Winnie Belle Jamison, both of Roanoke, VA; her brothers, Billy J. Craighead of Texas, Anthony W. (Tony/Red) Craighead of Virginia, and a sister, Jean Anne Blumke of Michigan.
Ruth was a graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, VA in 1980 and most recently employed by Carilion Medical Billing, in Roanoke, Virginia. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Rodney Lee Fisher, son, Justin Lee Fisher (fiancé Danielle Wiegand), grandsons, Mason, Bryson and Tolson all of Roanoke, VA, who she loved and adored with all her heart. She is also survived by her brothers, Johnny M. Craighead, SR of Roanoke, and Marvin Douglas Craighead (Karen) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Martha Craighead Muth (Scott) of Highpoint, North Carolina and Robbin Craighead Womack (Scott) of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Roxey Ann Fisher and Belinda Fisher Thomas of Charlottesville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM., Saturday, April 16, 2022, in the Sanctuary of Belmont Christian Church, 1101 Jamison Ave, Roanoke, VA; with a family meal to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belmont Christian Church.
