Obituary for Sarah Goad
Sarah Frances Goad, age 80, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline Sarah Bowles Goad and Charles Hoy Goad; her sisters, Josephine Evelyn Welch, Betty Jean Goad, Doris Jean Goad, Sandra Lee Goad, and Joyce Ann Goad Dent; and her brothers, Charles Lynwood Goad Jr., James William Goad, and Arthur Thomas Goad.
Surviving is her sister, Angiline Marie Goad and nephews, Greg Dent (Jane) and Everett Leon Dent, Jr. (Kim). She is also survived by other loving extended family and friends.
Sarah was a unique person. She loved to be with people, especially babies and children. Sarah enjoyed looking at the newspaper every morning, coloring in her coloring books, taking care of her plants and growing tomatoes. Sarah’s favorite TV shows were The Waltons and Thomas the Tank Engine. Sarah never forgot to remind people when a holiday or her birthday was and enjoyed all the social activities associated with them. Sarah thought it was great fun to dress up for Halloween and always talked of the “fancy” Valentines parties at Hotel Roanoke. Sarah was a good Mamma to her “baby”, Mrs. Beazley, and they were never apart.
The family would like to express gratefulness to Sarah’s caretakers with Good Samaritan Hospice, It’s about Time, Inc. and A Shining Light, Inc. The staff loved Sarah like family and helped make everyday a wonderful day for her.
