Thelma Gillenwater, 78, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dewey Gillenwater. Surviving is a son, James Gillenwater and fiancée, Jeanie Beason; two grandchildren, Adam and Rachel St.Pierre; a great-grandson, Henry DeWease; and a brother, Leonard Gillenwater Jr.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, from Oakey’s Vinton Chapel with the Reverend C. Nelson Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.Oakeys.com.
