Mr. Wayne M. Hartman, Sr. of Salem, Virginia, closed his earthly eyes awoke in the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the age of 73.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Hartman, Sr. and June Hartman; brothers, David Jr, Ricky, and Gene Hartman Sr; sister, Bonnie Abernathy.

Wayne’s legacy will be cherished by his loving wife, Virginia “Sissy” Hartman, son, Wayne Hartman, Jr. (Sarah); grandchildren, Shaye Chocklett (Matt); great grandchild, Abel Jaxson Chocklett; special friends, Woody and Dell Wellons, Kenny Parrish; Donna Gray, who had a special bond with her former father-in-law, and many niece, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Oakey’s Vinton Chapel on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2 pm with Pastor George Stevenson officiating. Family will lovingly greet family and friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton.
