Mr. Wayne Lewis Hurt, 66 years of age, passed into the arms of Jesus on January 21, 2023 after a brief but serious illness. Wayne was predeceased by his loving mother and father, Jill and Robert Hurt, of Salem, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Robin C. Hurt; sons, Zachary Hurt (Katelyn) of Moneta, VA, and Lucas Hurt (Lauren) of Fort Wainwright, AK; grandchildren, Landon, Rylan, Tanner, Adeline, Jackson, and Maddox; brothers, Gary Hurt (Dale) of Roanoke, and Darren Hurt (Tammy) of Christiansburg; three wonderful nieces, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of Roanoke.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, he worked for and retired from AEP. Wayne attended East Gate Church of the Nazarene for many years, loved the Hokies and watching his boys, and later his grandchildren play sports.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm at East Gate Church of the Nazarene, 2002 East Gate Ave on Friday, January 27, 2023, with visitation from 1- 2 pm. Flowers may be sent to Oakey’s Vinton or in lieu of flowers, donations to East Gate Church of the Nazarene or The Tunnels to Towers organization.
