On Friday, March 10^th, William “Billy” L. Smith beloved son, father, uncle and grandfather passed away.  He was 70 years old.  He was born to Judy Donnells and John L Smith.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelia F. Smith and father, John L. Smith.  He is survived by his sons, John and his wife, Mimi and their children, Tyler and Chelsea, and Benjamin and his wife, Elizabeth and their children, Alexander and Sophia; his mother, Judy Donnells; sister, Mary and husband, Max Helms and many nieces and nephews.

Billy was an active member at his church Community of Faith. After a long career with Kroger he retired in 2018 to spend more time with the family.  He loved watching both his sons participate in sports. He enjoyed being a Poppy to the fullest, babysitting, attending baseball/football games, going to the pumpkin patch, preschool graduation, and just watching his grandchildren grow up.  Billy really treasured visiting for Taco Tuesday each week.  He made sure it was never missed!  His hobbies included a lawn care business where he enjoyed being outdoors and helping people with their lawns.  He had a great customer base that was loyal and brought joy to him when they interacted.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 18^th at noon at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to a charity of your choice.
